The Legal Counsel will provide legal guidance and support on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. This varied role will involve drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, supporting with company mergers and liaising with outside counsel.

Job Description

Varied Legal Counsel responsibilities include:

  • Providing corporate, commercial, M&A, transaction support
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
  • Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders including the CEO and senior leadership team on corporate and commercial matters.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations in all business operations.
  • Identify and mitigate potential legal risks to protect the organization.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed for specialized legal matters.
  • Support the development and implementation of company policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal and regulatory developments.
  • Organized approach to legal administration including filing documents, tracking edits, monitoring IP portfolio and filings

The Successful Applicant

The successful Legal Counsel should have:

  • Juris Doctor.
  • Admitted to the New York State Bar.
  • 3-5 years post qualified experience as an attorney (either in private practice, in-house, or a combination)
  • Background in corporate and commercial law, ideally including M&A and experience handling matters within a publicly traded organization.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong executive presence and experience providing counsel directly to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to legal challenges.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Enjoys working with global counterparts and occasional travel (as required for the role).
  • Candidates must be based in the US with current/ indefinite work authorization.
