This is a highly varied role for a Real Estate Associate with 1-5 years relevant real estate legal experience looking to progress from Big-Law or a Mid-Size firm to this In-House Legal Counsel role.Job DescriptionA varied role, as Legal Counsel you will:Working directly with the General Counsel and Managing Director collaboratively working closely with stakeholders including the Managing Director, Head of Closings, Head of Special Servicing and other contacts across this 400 employee business.Communicating closely with the Credit and Closing teams.Managing outside counsel on high volume daily loan closing, foreclosures, loan workout negotiations, title claims & loan-level litigation.Assessing the risk of loan closings, ensuring compliance with investor and other regulatory requirements. The Successful ApplicantThe successful Legal Counsel, will have demonstrable experience:JDAdmitted to practice in New York1-5 years Real Estate experienceMature, team spirited and customer first approachStrong written communication skills and collaborative approach essentialStrong team player, hands on and well-measured, committed to excellent customer service.Candidates must be available to interview in late July/ early August and be entitled to work in the US without sponsorship (now or in the future).
