Managing Director ANZ

Sydney, New South Wales Permanent View Job Description
An iconic, global brand in the premium consumer products sector is seeking an experienced Managing Director, ANZ to lead its Australian and New Zealand operations. With a long heritage, exceptionally loyal customers, and a reputation for engineering excellence, the business sits at the top end of its category and continues to innovate across product, sustainability and customer experience.
  • Strengthen collaboration across ANZ
  • Autonomous MD role

About Our Client

The ANZ business operates through a highly engaged independent dealer network, supported by small but long‑tenured teams in Sydney and Wellington. The incoming MD will take ownership of both markets during a period of transition, strengthening commercial discipline, operational effectiveness and collaboration across the region.

Job Description

As Managing Director, you will hold full P&L accountability and lead all aspects of performance across Australia and New Zealand.

This includes:

  • Driving growth through a nationwide dealer network rather than traditional retail channels
  • Enhancing commercial rigour, margin focus and ROI-based decision-making
  • Creating operational cadence and discipline across both countries
  • Aligning Australia and New Zealand towards a unified way of working
  • Strengthening training, education, service quality and customer experience across the dealer ecosystem
  • Leading cultural stability and trust-building following a period of organisational change
  • Representing the ANZ market within a global structure with limited time overlap

The successful MD will:

  • Establish clear operational control and accountability across both countries
  • Improve margins, cost-to-serve and commercial decision‑making
  • Deliver calm, thoughtful change leadership without destabilising long-tenured teams
  • Reduce friction between markets and create a strengthened, united ANZ operating model
  • Enhance dealer performance through improved education, accessories attachment, service standards and brand experience
  • Confidently manage upwards within a European-headquartered global business

This is a rare chance to take the reins of a beloved premium brand with an affluent, passionately loyal customer base and strong market recognition.

The Successful Applicant

The successful Managing Director ANZ should have:

  • Strong operational leadership with proven commercial judgement
  • Change leadership experience in mid-sized or smaller organisations
  • Excellent communication with the ability to simplify and explain "why" repeatedly
  • A collaborative style that builds trust with long-tenured employees
  • Experience managing across multiple countries or complex stakeholder environments
  • P&L insight and understanding of margin levers
  • Experience with premium products and/or dealer, distributor or channel-based models

What's on Offer

This is a genuine leadership mandate within a stable, global organisation that invests heavily in product innovation and sustainability. You will shape the future of two markets with clear headroom for growth, supported by an incredibly passionate customer community and a committed dealer network.
