Job Description

  • Deal Origination & Business Development:
    • Identify and engage with SMEs in Malaysia to explore financing and investment opportunities.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, industry leaders, and financial institutions.
    • Develop a robust pipeline of high-potential SME investment targets.
  • Investment Structuring & Execution:
    • Assess SME financial performance, market potential, and strategic fit.
    • Structure financing solutions, including debt and equity investments.
    • Negotiate deal terms and oversee due diligence processes.
  • Portfolio Management:
    • Monitor and support portfolio companies to drive growth and profitability.
    • Provide strategic guidance and operational insights to SME partners.
  • Market & Industry Expertise:
    • Stay informed on market trends, economic developments, and regulatory changes impacting SMEs in Malaysia.
    • Develop strategies to enhance the firm's positioning within the SME private equity space.
  • Reporting & Evaluation:
    • Prepare and present investment reports to the Managing Partners.
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to assess deal performance and strategic direction.

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Managing Director / Executive Director' should have:

  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or SME financing.
  • Strong network within the Malaysian SME sector and proven deal origination experience.
  • Deep understanding of SME business models, financial structuring, and market dynamics.
  • Self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset with a hunger for deal-making.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and ability to assess business risks and opportunities.
