Our client, a global leader in their field, is seeking a dynamic and ambitious Managing Director to lead the transformation and operational excellence of their production site in the Silesia region.

This leadership role offers the opportunity to drive strategic change, enhance operational efficiency, and establish new benchmarks for quality and sustainability.

We are looking for an accomplished Managing Director to lead the transformation and operational excellence of our client's production site in Poland.

This role requires a hands-on leader with extensive experience in lean management principles and a strong commitment to continuous improvement across production, quality, and environmental standards.

The Managing Director will be responsible for guiding the site through key strategic initiatives, implementing lean processes, and ensuring sustainable, efficient production. In this capacity, you will collaborate closely with international teams, contributing to the broader development and success of the Group.

Job Description

  • Lead the transformation of the production site, focusing on lean management, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize production processes, reduce downtime, eliminate waste, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Monitor production quality using PPM (Parts per Million) to detect and resolve issues promptly, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Actively reduce operational failures, improve workplace cleanliness, and minimize noise pollution to create a safer, more sustainable working environment.
  • Champion lean methodologies and continuous improvement processes (CIP) across the site.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence, ensuring alignment with the principles of the Group production system.
  • Develop and implement floor-level KPI management, monitoring performance and making data-driven decisions for ongoing improvements.
  • Collaborate with central functions to establish targets for the site and contribute to overarching strategic goals.
  • Play a key role in developing efficient production technologies and supporting process-oriented growth at Polish locations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the local team, fostering a high-performance, results-driven culture.

  • Support the personal and professional development of the management team, providing growth opportunities within the organization.
  • Actively drive change processes, ensuring the continuous development of production technologies, quality standards, and performance metrics.
  • Assume full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for the production site, ensuring cost-effective operations and achieving financial targets.
  • Implement cost control measures and drive profitability through efficient resource management and operational improvements.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in managing a plant or mid-sized production unit, preferably in automotive or general manufacturing industries.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in a comparable management role, with P&L responsibility for a production site or unit.
  • Proven expertise in implementing lean management practices and driving operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated success in leading change within complex manufacturing environments and managing at least 200 employees.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a hands-on, pragmatic approach.
  • Experience in shaping and developing high-performing teams with a clear focus on results and continuous improvement.
  • Deep understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement processes (CIP), and KPI-based management systems.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Experience working in international organizations with the ability to navigate cultural differences.
  • Polish (native proficiency), English (minimum B2 level), German is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with a hands-on, practical approach.
