It positions at the top 10 branded retailer on ecommerce market in US for the category they are serving. Our client is a fast-paced environment with a strategic focus on the customer. Due to their strong business strategy plan in China, they are looking for a high caliber General Manager to manage their entire sourcing office based in Shanghai.

Job Description

  • Lead the both Sofeline and Hardline Sourcing, Quality and Supply Chain team in building and executing Sourcing strategies across all categories/depts.
  • Manage/oversee the merchandise sourcing & production of all categories for Owned & Operated channels and flexible business model opportunities
  • Establish vendor strategies, product costing/placement, manage vendor relationships and production oversight related to product categories.
  • Responsible for ensuring products meet established standards for safety and quality in alignment with Global Sourcing objectives.
  • Lead the teams to ensure on time delivery of merchandise to the US of distribution
  • Liaise with key partners within cross functional partners in Product Design, Brand Merchandising, Logistics, Product Integrity, etc.
  • Ensure the individual teams are directed towards clear targets in financials/margin expectations, product quality and execution, and delivery timing.
  • Prepare standard any ad-hoc reports as requested (Time and Action Calendars, production timelines, status updates, etc.).
  • Provides Develops, mentors, and trains team, providing appropriate direction, resources, and environment needed for success.
  • Drives continuous improvement internally and within supply base to elevate supplier performance with measurable results.

Identifies opportunities to leverage cross-category tools, information, processes and resources to optimize organizational performance and support.
Seeks, develops and drives innovative negotiation strategies that lead to significant cost and/or efficiency savings.
Uses understanding of product knowledge/markets by product category to guide team in supporting the creation of the supplier bidding strategy

Uses tools to Manage & Mitigate risk, uncertainty, and threats to ensure continuity of supply, cost control, and quality assurance.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate should be a degree holder with a minimum of 10 years' experience, out of which at least 7+ years in Sourcing, Merchandising, Quality, supply chain/logistics or project management area. You will ideally possess the following:

*Category sourcing expertise in softlinel and hardline with strong knowledge on retail industry

*Prior experience working for the relevant company,familiar with the China manufacturing factory base for the different products is a high plus

*Track record driving successful retail sourcing, merchandising, or category strategies achieving cost and financial objectives & growth

*Previous success in driving transformation or change management ideal

* Self-motivated and results driven. Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.

*Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills

*Must be fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin)
