About Our Client

My client is a market leading, award-winning manufacturer of high-volume FMCG products. They have operations in several countries and are developing multi-channel routes to market. They are looking to appoint an ambitious Operations Director to join their senior leadership team with responsibility for modernising and developing their operations and manufacturing capability in line with their ongoing growth strategy.

Job Description

  • Own, develop and deliver the vision for manufacturing-based operations, working closely with the senior leadership team, team to ensure the strategy and capability fits with the business objectives.
  • Lead and develop Operational teams - including, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain & Purchasing, Logistics, Tooling, Warehousing, Quality and Health & safety to ensure that they are appropriate to support business growth.
  • Coach, develop and lead a diverse team of operational professionals ensuring that the skills, competencies, and behaviours are cultivated to support the future growth opportunities.
  • Continue to drive a culture of continuous improvement and delivering best-in-class levels of performance.
  • Identify and implement appropriate systems and processes that will streamline ways of working, simplify reporting, and improve customer experience.
  • Take an active role in supporting the implementation of a new ERP system, ensuring that operational requirements are appropriately configured.
  • Work with business stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of quality are delivered for its customer base.
  • Develop and drive the asset base footprint and automation strategy to accommodate increased growth. This will ensure the business is well placed to take advantage of the industry's growing focus on digital channels.

The Successful Applicant

  • Drive, energy and resilience - this is a high-growth, high-pace business and requires a leader who has the ambition and enthusiasm to operate within a commercial, sales driven environment.
  • Production and Operations experience from a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Substantial experience in driving production and operational improvements in a high volume fast paced environment.
  • Extensive experience of managing the end-to-end operations process, with muti site and multi country experience.
  • Commercially minded with experience of setting the Operations vision and strategy in line with fast pace high growth business strategy and ethos.
  • A clear communicator and strong, inspirational leader with the ability to influence at all levels of the business.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to roll-up-the-sleeves, when appropriate, and lead from the front.
  • Strong stakeholder manager with experience of managing relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • On site Midlands Location with infrequent international travel.
