Job Description

This is a newly created role that will report to the Global Co-Head of Operations of the Company and will be responsible for operational activities that supports businesses in trading. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and managing the Company's internal operational processes and procedures to ensure the business is being managed with the appropriate checks and balances regarding operational risk. The Operations Manager will also be tasked with implementing and managing the key external banking and cryptocurrency provider relationships and partnerships - i.e. prime brokers, exchanges, bank counter parties and external vendors - that will enable the execution of the firms business objectives regarding movement of fiat and crypto currencies globally. The Operations Manager will manage all exception management - both internally and externally, with downstream partners.

Responsibilities:



  • Subject matter expert responsible for leading and managing all operational support for the markets business and asset management, including legal/compliance issues with counter parties, exchanges, and external vendors


  • Manage all banking, custody, prime brokerage and exchange relationships, including integration and implementation with all banking operations partners globally


  • Manage downstream exception management related to reconciliations with the trading desk, banks and other external partners


  • Develop and lead the Operations team regarding the following:


    • Position reconciliations for daily activities between the trading desks, external counter-parties and exchanges


    • Handling of all payments processing (fiat and crypto)


    • Ensuring adherence to legal and compliance requirements


    • Investigations regarding exception management


    • Settlement reconciliations with prime brokers and OTC desks


    • Determining daily funding requirements for settlement date positions


    • External vendor management including any licensing issues

The Successful Applicant



  • Expertise in operations and support, working extensively with a portfolio of financial institutions, banks, prime brokers, and processing vendors in the payments landscape


  • Well-versed in the dynamics of the payments world, how banks and vendors operate


  • Willingness to be hands-on in a rapidly growing startup and able to continue to grow and adapt as the business evolves and demands new thinking and levels of performance


  • Clear communicator who sets direction and manages to specific goals and deliverables, both internally and externally


  • Exceptional management, recruiting, leadership, and team building skills


  • Understanding and/or interest in cryptocurrencies and digital assets
