Our client is mostly recognized as one of the biggest family office in Italy, probably the first mover on the alternative investment platform market.

Job Description

The Partner will cooperate alongside the existing team, leading end-to-end the deal process (from target scouting to deal closing) and helping the junior resources in their continuous improvement.

The firm now counts more than 5 people, with a solid base of analysts and associates.

He/she will directly report to the Bord of Direction, and to the CEO.

What will you do

  • Deal Sourcing: actively lead the identification of new business opportunities by overseeing and conducting extensive market research to identify new investment trends, and by building relationships with entrepreneurs.
  • Deal Evaluation: conduct extensive industry, market, and company-specific research. Develop and supervise creation of complex financial models, valuation analysis, investment memos, board materials and other presentations.
  • Due Diligence: supervise due diligence throughout the investment process, including financial, operational, and market diligence, conduct calls with references and industry experts, and perform in-depth business plan evaluation; engage and manage external service providers.
  • Deal Execution: manage end-to-end process of deal execution, including negotiations and definition of financial deal terms and structure; coordinate internal and external parties, and ensure tracking against timelines.
  • Fundraising: lead as senior in the future fundraising process, including performing in-depth research related to market trends/dynamics, industries, and verticals, helping shape investment theses, and preparing marketing materials.
  • Portfolio Management: manage the ongoing relationships with existing portfolio companies to achieve ambitious growth plans; monitoring and administration of the portfolio on behalf of Client, including managing the fund model to help guide portfolio construction decisions and representing the Client on the board of directors of portfolio companies.
  • Strategic Thinking: create presentations with clear recommendations for senior leadership; active thought leadership and problem-solving both internally and on behalf of portfolio companies.
  • Reporting and Compliance: own reporting and compliance responsibilities, including performance reports and ongoing valuation analysis on the existing portfolio, for the benefit of Client leadership, Board of Directors, LPs, and as part of regulatory requirements.
  • Networking: develop and manage long-term relationships with new and existing businesses across the Italian mid-market eco-system to expand Client's network and presence in the market; serve as an ambassador in the market on behalf of the Client.
  • Leadership and Team Building: lead the process for training and development of analysts and associates; act as a mentor to junior team members; promote a positive work team environment and inspire a culture of excellence and community; manage various relationships with professional services providers and other external parties.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelors and Master's degree preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or Science from a top-tier university, with strong academic credentials.
  • At least 20 years of full-time work experience within the fields of private equity or family office, with a proven track record in Italian M&A mid-market transaction.
  • Highly analytical skill set with impeccable quantitative and research skills, especially regarding business/market trends and financial metrics; advanced financial modelling skills, including business planning and forecasting, scenario analysis, valuation, and analysis of economic deal terms and returns.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with deal structures and deal negotiations; extensive live deal experience with hands-on exposure to deal management.
  • Strong business and strategic acumen, with ability to formulate, communicate, and inspire broader vision with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ambitious, enthusiastic, proactive self-starter who excels in a fast-paced environment as part of lean teams or in self-directed settings.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, networking and communication skills; able to lead development and delivery of compelling presentations, clearly and concisely share objectives, ideas, and rationale, and make recommendations to partners and company founders to achieve desired outcomes across a range of audiences and levels.
  • Track record as a supervisor, having directly managed individuals or diverse teams in a formal capacity.
  • Constantly monitors and formulates positions on global current events, critical social/political/economic issues, as well as market/consumer trends.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint) or equivalent applications; experience using workflow management applications.
  • Native Italian and fluent in English.
