Our client is an international organization that has recently expanded into the North America market. This hire will be critical for them as they continue their growth into this year and beyond.

Job Description

As the People and Culture Generalist you will be responsible for the following:

  • Supporting the Group GM - People & Culture in executing the overarching people lifecycle activities across USA
  • Provide HR advisory services to managers and employees on a range of HR matters across the employee lifecycle including best practice people management, HR policies, processes, employee entitlements and other related inquiries
  • Manage the recruitment process for the USA business by partnering with the hiring managers ensure a successful hiring process, including:
    • Co-ordinating approval of requisition forms, supporting development of position description, posting job ads on appropriate channels, shortlisting candidates, conducting phone screening, face-to-face interviews, conducting background/ reference checks and liaising with recruitment agencies where needed
  • Manage the employee onboarding experience for new employees ensuring it is positive and productive
  • Support the business by providing HR advice and coaching on employee relations issues including:
    • Acting as the first point of contact for all employee relations queries and providing general advice and assistance as needed
    • Provide support in dispute resolution processes and activities
    • Provide support in performance improvement and disciplinary processes
  • Provide support in implementation of the Performance Review Program, including training and assisting managers with conducting performance reviews and taking them through the process as well as ensuring timelines and key deliverables are met and documentation is completed and recorded
  • Actively participate in and execute company-wide HR initiatives and projects that support business strategy
  • Lead Wellbeing and Engagement Activities across the organization, ensuring that Teams and Safety are inclusive on the plan and activities.
  • Lead and provide support in the delivery of people-related projects, process improvements and change initiatives
  • Support and contribute to HR and business reporting requirements
  • Contribute to and support initiatives related to remuneration, benefits, and incentive bonus programs
  • Provide support on other strategic HR Projects as and when requested from GM - People & Culture
  • Work collaboratively with all areas of the business to identify, develop, and implement key cultural, leadership, and change initiatives
  • Be part of any projects or lead HR activities as requested by Group GM - People & Culture
  • Oversee and monitor Safety practices
  • Influence, guide and provide advice around Safety
  • Educate and implement Safety initiatives, that ensures that our people have Safety at front of mind each day
  • Be a change agent and lead change with business unit leaders

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 5+ years relevant experience in a generalist HR role covering all aspects of the employee lifecycle
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain flexibility and resilience amidst changing priorities
  • Refined influencing skills
  • Ability to build solid and professional working relationships with all people at all levels
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to lead by example and collaborate across the business
  • Ability to work closely and effectively with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and experience in negotiation / facilitation of outcomes with stakeholder groups
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to coach, support and provide balanced advice
  • Workshop and facilitation skills
  • Have an exceptional eye for detail
  • Ability to maintain current knowledge of legislative and governance frameworks around employment issues
  • A demonstrated capacity to work as a member of a high performing team.
