Job Description

1. He will be accountable for the P&L of the Wuhan Plant and the optimal management of Wuhan's budget, headcount, operating costs, capital expenditures.

2.He will have eight department managers reporting directly to him, covering production, order fulfillment, project management, procurement, quality management, engineering, HR & Admin, and finance.

3.He will collaborate with cross-functional teams to serve primarily global internal customers and a small number of external customers-which are industry players with high service and quality expectations.

4.He will take full ownership of Wuhan's operational and financial performance, with the core objective of building the facility into a good class of manufacturing hub run by a seasoned, professional team with an international mindset and proven global operating methodologies.

5.He will ensure strict adherence to all corporate policies and disciplines across the team, as well as maintain a safe and ergonomic working environment for all employees.

6.Additionally, he will be responsible for nurturing and maintaining positive relationships with local government authorities and community stakeholders.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Plant GM should have:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related field; preferred age range 40-45 years old.
  • Minimum 8 years of senior management experience in the manufacturing industry, with a preference for automotive industry background.
  • Profound understanding of Toyota Production System (TPS), lean production and quality management systems, coupled with hands-on experience in their pragmatic implementation.
  • A minimum of 10 years of hands-on practical experience in TPS, lean production and related methodologies.
  • Solid financial acumen and literacy at the executive level.
  • Project management knowledge and experience will be a distinct advantage.
  • Extensive working experience in multinational enterprises and cross-cultural work environments.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and executive leadership capabilities.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken (business proficiency).
  • Humble team player with a strong curiosity and appetite for new knowledge and innovations.
  • Demonstrated willingness to embrace challenges and drive change.
  • Proven ability to deliver results and work effectively under high pressure.
