About Our Client

Our client for the Plant Manager opportunity is a contract manufacturer for many of the leading global consumer goods brands. This company is in rapid growth mode through organic growth and acquisition. The Plant Manager will lead a fast-paced customer facing plant reporting to the Director of Operations.

The Plant Manager will be a key leader for the North American operations in charge of managing and improving operations and manufacturing for the Cincinnati, OH plant. The Plant Manager will oversee a manufacturing facility of 120 people including 6 direct reports and will be highly customer facing. This role has strong career advancement opportunity and looking for someone that can grow into a Director/VP role.

Job Description

  • Oversee company operations to ensure production efficiency, quality, customer satisfaction and cost-effective management of resources.
  • Establish and implement safety programs in line with company values and policies.
  • Responsible for day to day management of the business to achieve the budgeted operating profit and working capital targets.
  • Comply with direction obtained from the Board of Directors, CEO, CFO and Group Operations Director.
  • Review monthly financial pack to determine progress and status in obtaining objectives and revise plans as necessary in accordance with current conditions to meet the overall objectives.
  • Ensure adequate resources (personnel, materials, equipment and training) are provided to meet the company objectives.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to employees.
  • Chair Monthly Management meetings to evaluate the business performance and strive for continual improvement.
  • Responsible for meeting the customer, statutory and regulatory requirements of the business.
  • Establish a work environment conducive to maintaining good employee morale.
  • Provide suitable compensation and benefits in order to maintain existing employees and stay competitive in the market when we are recruiting new employees.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for direct reports and ensure that all managers do the same for their employees.

The Successful Applicant

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in General Management, Plant Management, or Operations Management with full plant and operations responsibility
    • 10-15 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, and operations
    • Strong experience in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing
    • Experience working in regulated industries and familiar with government contracts highly preferred
    • Six Sigma and Lean certifications highly preferred, but not required
    • Knowledge of safety programs, OSHA standards and federal regulations for safety
    • Strong with Microsoft suite of products
    • Experience working in a global organization preferred
