About Our Client

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Controls Finance Manager to join our client who is a leading Owner's Representative Construction Firm based near Providence, Rhode Island. As a critical part of the project delivery team, you will oversee the financial planning, cost management, and project controls for complex construction projects. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while delivering high-quality financial and project control services to their clients. This position is on site 5 days per week and reports directly to Executive Level Leadership.

Job Description

Cost Management & Analysis:

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets.
  • Track and analyze project costs against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and proposing corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed cost reports and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.



Financial Planning & Reporting:

  • Lead project financial planning and reporting, including cash flow analysis, financial forecasting, and funding needs.
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing, payment processing, and financial reconciliation.



Project Controls:

  • Implement and manage project control systems to monitor schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate with scheduling teams to integrate cost and schedule data for holistic project tracking.



Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to provide financial and cost management insights.
  • Act as the primary financial liaison between project stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency in all financial matters.



Risk Management:

  • Identify financial risks and opportunities and recommend strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure adherence to contractual, financial, and regulatory requirements.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Related Field
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project controls, project accounting, financial management, or cost engineering in the construction or consulting industry.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and tools (e.g., Sage300/Timberline, Procore, Primavera, SAP, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of construction project lifecycle, cost management principles, and financial reporting standards.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
