About Our Client
Our client is a automotive tier 1 company with strong brand and cutting-edge technology to service their clients across globe. With anticipated high growth in the EV car industry, they are strengthening their business to look for a senior management with strong Automotive Purchasing background to join their leadership team, and bring the business to the next level.
Reporting to the General Manager, China and managing a sizable team in the China consisting of Direct Material, Indirect Materials, Program Sourcing, Global Commodity Manager and SQE. Wtih annual purchasing spending more than 300 million RMB. As a key component of this team you will be responsible for the company's Purchasing functions and assist in organizing and awarding supplier contracts as well as full operational and team management for the Purchasing Department. Additionally, you will work with suppliers on purchasing materials and maintaining accurate contracts.
*Manage and develop the overall sourcing strategies covering a broad spectrum of categories - Raw Materials, and Indirect
*Develop risk mitigation strategy through close monitoring of market environment to minimimze price risk/ capture opportunity
*Continue to develop new suppliers while maintaining a strong partnership & network to ensure continuous supply at the most efficient cost while driving quality improvements to support innovative new product launches
*As a strong manager, establish clear and measurable objectives to the procurement team and ensure they achieve the company and team's short-term and long-term goals both financially and operational
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate should be a degree holder with a minimum of 12 years' experience, out of which at least 8 years in procurement/ sourcing, supply chain or project management area. You will ideally possess the following:
*Category sourcing expertise in direct material and/indirect material with strong knowledge on automotive industry
*Prior experience working for famous automotive OEM or tier 1/2 company in a leadership role managing multi-cultural teams.
*Track record driving successful procurement or category strategies achieving cost and financial objectives & growth
*Previous success in driving transformation or change management ideal
*Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
*Must be fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin)
