R&D Director

• Develops the R&D strategy, co-develops business strategy. Key driver in defining the long term product and process innovation agenda. Partners with internal and external stakeholders to establish the Polymer Specialties' long term product and process development priorities
• Translates of the R&D strategy in tactical and operational implementation plans
• Ensures the organization delivers on plans and budgets
• Overall responsible for R&D budget and spend in organization
• Develops organization and drive workforce, talent and succession planning
• Drives engagement and a high performance and innovation culture
• Creates a learning organization
• Sponsors key R&D projects and process improvements
• Manages strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
• Create new technological platforms and link them to market trends/customer needs
• Create the environment where people transfer best practices for products, processes and ways of working
• Leads site services and scientific site services of R&D Center Deventer
• Responsible for coordinating Product Stewardship and Regulatory Affairs (PSRA) activities for Polymer Specialties

• Member of BL PS Management Team
• Works closely with business line technology team to translate innovations to new product/processes at sites
• Works closely with Marketing to align R&D project funnel with market and customer needs
• Owns R&D portfolio review process together with Business management, finance and marketing
• Coordinates PSRA activities for PS using the PSRA organization as a resource
• Work closely with Sustainability network to drive the PS sustainability strategy
