This family run business was established almost 30 years ago with a portfolio of highly-acclaimed wines from some of the world's greatest vineyards. Every brand in the company's portfolio has a distinct style and legacy. They are committed to producing, marketing and distributing handmade, highly individualistic wines from some of the California's best vineyards. Each of their wineries is a distinct, autonomous entity with its own identity, style, vineyard sites, techniques, personnel, varietal mix and category segment.
Job Description
- Effectively manage and engage importers, distributors, agents, and direct-retail partners to enhance sales, distribution, profitability, and prominence of the brands
- Develops new priority export markets with established, A-tier distributors and importers across the assigned territory
- Builds and executes regional strategic plan(s) that align with corporate and divisional objective's
- Performs careful ROI analyses of all new business initiatives to align with the corporate and divisional objective's
- Plans and conducts distributor business reviews and joint business plans
- Aligns brand positioning and strategy consistently across all markets and channel's
- Provides solutions and proactively addresses inventory issues, labelling and compliance, sales forecasts, demand planning, payment and credit issues, and other logistical challenge's
- Develops strong working relationships with distributor and agency sales, marketing, and other key external stakeholders, including the major liquor monopolies
- Works closely with internal stakeholders including brand marketing, compliance, trade hospitality, finance, customer service, wine-making, and operations
The Successful Applicant
- We are looking for a sales director within the wine/alcohol industry
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Strong desire for achievement, accomplishment, and a long-term vision
- Strategic, analytical, reasoning, and quantitative skill's
- A thorough understanding of strategy development including brand positioning and effective programming
- Robust command of the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills; Additional language skills a plus
- WSET Qualification
- Remotely based in the UK, ideally close to an airport
- Regular national & international travel
