About Our Client

Due to continued growth and investment a leading supplier of btob materials, machinery and services require a high performing Sales Director to take responsibility for a fast growth business unit within their wider group. The Sales Director will be inheriting a business with a turnover in excess of £90M and sales organisation in excess of 100 people incorporating field sales, technical sales, business development, national accounts and customer support functions.

The company has realistic and ambitious growth plans with the successful Sales Director having a focus in driving a sales strategy which incorporates both organic sales growth and growth through strategic acquisitions.

Job Description

· Create and deliver a clear sales strategy that considers the opinions and perspectives of others to drive positive engagement. Achieving all sales, margin and growth targets

· Maintain and develop regional sites in line with the strategy, to maximise the growth opportunities. Including the effective integration and performance of acquired companies.

· Inclusive leadership style with the ability to help develop and mentor senior management reports and the wider commercial team

· Ability to analyse sales processes and look at new ways to offer innovative nonstandard solutions

· Undertake strategic review of markets, company competitors and opportunities for profitable growth

· Direct and control the allocation of the customer portfolio between regional sales teams, and enforce completion of CRM data and pricing tools to lead best practice across the business

· Create the lowest cost to serve whilst maintaining service standards in regional locations, through development of local logistics strategies, utilising the existing network and 3rd Party providers

The Successful Applicant

· Broad experience within a B2B sales environment

· Strong entrepreneurial skills with demonstrable experience of leading, mentoring and developing an established sales organisation

· Excellent communication skills with natural ability to work at all levels of an organisation

· A deep understanding of a Sales function which operate across several different divisions

· Gravitas to undertake senior customer engagements and relationship management

· Demonstrable experience as a Sales Director / Commercial Director, developing customer focused solutions and with a structured approach for the sales organisation

· Ambitious and high calibre individual with potential to progress career into large commercial or general management roles

· Demonstrable experience as a Sales Director of delivering growth ahead of market rates

· Experience of business growth through acquisition would be desirable

· Ability to commute regularly to head office in Leicestershire
