About Our Client

Our client is an international, globally-present B2B company, and they entrusted us with the executive search project for their Head of Shared Services in Warsaw. The chosen candidate will be responsible for the build-up and functioning of their finance hub for Europe, and will be the end-to-end process owner of accounting, reporting and FP&A processes in the region.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading company and help build a new center from scratch as the company embarks on moving finance processes to the SSC model for the first time.

Job Description

  • Develop and communicate a vision of the global Finance Shared Services strategy, roadmap and future operating model, ensuring alignment across the Europe organisation
  • Build and successfully lead a diverse team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability
  • Take ownership of the processes delivered by the centre

  • Develop a high level customer service, ensuring that the service level agreement standards (SLA) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are consistently met within the full scope of activities
  • Close collaboration with stakeholders across the organization, in order to fully understand their needs and to ensure the high-quality services delivery
  • Maximise the achievement of business goals with continuous improvement programs and the ongoing development of business processes
  • Identify and mitigate SSC operations-related risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards

The Successful Applicant

  • A commercially minded and results-driven leader, with 5-10+ years of managerial experience gained in an international Shared Services Center, with a strong track record of managing and motivating large teams in a complex, multinational environment
  • Understands the specific principles of shared services operating model, its methodologies and related best practices
  • Experienced in implementing and leveraging SSC technologies (including but not limited to: ERP systems, workflow automation, data analytic tools)
  • Experienced in managing financial processes (such as OTC, P2P, R2R)
  • Stakeholder-oriented, with excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical or financial information to a non-technical audience
  • Educated to university degree level - diploma in a finance-related field is preferred
  • Fluent English language is essential, proficiency in Polish is highly desirable; any other European language would be beneficial
