Job Description

The Site Director will lead a uniquely positioned, high‑margin manufacturing site producing chemical products. This role requires a strong transformational leader who can combine operational excellence with people leadership-aligning strategy, rebuilding trust, and creating a cohesive and high‑performing management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the site strategy in alignment with Group's business objectives, safety standards, and manufacturing roadmap
  • Lead all site operations, ensuring world-class reliability, process safety, and regulatory compliance (Seveso III)
  • Drive cultural integration and change management as legacy structures and responsibilities transition into the Group
  • Build, develop, and align a diverse Site Leadership Team, creating strong internal collaboration and collective ownership
  • Act as a trusted sparring partner to Operations and serve as a visible, credible leader on the shop floor
  • Strengthen relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, suppliers, and partners
  • Own site financial performance, including budget management and asset integrity governance
  • Champion continuous improvement across QESH, operational reliability, and organizational effectiveness

The Successful Applicant

The client is looking for senior leadership experience in a complex chemical or process manufacturing environment. Additionally:

  • Proven success in site leadership, plant management, or operational general management roles
  • Strong background in Seveso environments, process safety, and regulated industrial operations
  • Demonstrated experience in organizational transformation, post‑merger integration, or cultural change
  • Track record of managing multiple stakeholders-corporate, regulatory, and external partners
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into clear execution plans
  • Strong people leader who builds trust, alignment, and accountability across all levels
  • Resilient, decisive, and calm under pressure, particularly in safety‑critical environments
  • Fluent in Dutch and English is a must
