About Our Client

Our Client is an international logistics solution provider for which we are looking for a Country Manager for their Istanbul establishment.

Job Description

He-she organizes, directs and controls the teams: operators (transit agents), driving staff, administrative and commercial staff, etc. according to the priorities and hazards of his company

He-She defines and/or participates in the definition of the commercial strategy and its declination and also has the mission of prospecting new customers

H-She negotiates and contracts the services (response to call for tenders, estimate ...), establishes the terms of service and the conditions of realization of transport with its national or international customers and / or its service providers.

He-She is also responsible for handling special files.

As an operational manager, he organizes and coordinates the circuit of information on the functioning of the service or structure, proposes axes of evolution, supervises the administrative management of staff, identifies and implements human resources management actions.

He-she also establishes and follows the elements of the budget of the service or the operation (purchases, invoicing, charges ...).

As an operational manager, he ensures compliance with the conditions of transport, safety and the general well-being of his employees.

The activity of the agency manager may involve travel within the operating site (quay, freight area, vehicle fleet, other company services) but also to the group's holding company or other agencies in France and Europe

The Successful Applicant

The Country Manager must have a sense of organization and management developed to ensure the proper management of the activity which requires the consideration of customer needs, the management of multitude of information and documents, compliance with the procedures in force while maintaining a good cohesion of the operational teams.

S/He must have a taste for responsibilities to dare new projects, develop the activity, make proposals to his Management.

S/He must also show flexibility and availability in order to solve any problem at any time.

S/He must possess a sense of rigor while being reactive. Indeed, international law as well as the legislation on the carriage of goods appear to be rather complex and do not tolerate the slightest error. At the same time, it will have to quickly find alternative solutions in order to satisfy its customers while respecting deadlines and costs.

He will need an innate commercial sense that will allow him to look for prospects and develop the company's activity by maintaining relationships of trust with his customers and with other partners such as port staff, customs administration etc.

Fluency in English is a prerequisite in a global trading system today. Fluency in French will be a plus.
