About Our Client
My client is a prominent Turkish conglomerate with investments in Turkey, Russia, the Netherlands and Romania.
Underground Coal Mine is established in the Soma Lignite Basin, the largest and good quality lignite field in Turkey, and the company holds private mining licences applicable onto 2050.
The coal resource under the license area amounts to 227 m tons with an average calorific value at ~3300 kCal/kg laying under 800-1000 meters below surface.
Job Description
The Technical Coordinator who will directly report to the CEO and the Board of Directors.
The Technical Coordinator will supervise the General Manager of the Mine on technical and engineering matters concerning the coal production, ongoing developments and future planning in the coal mine.
The Successful Applicant
The candidate must have vast professional experience in thick coal mining and in managing associated risks such as spontaneous combustion, water inrush and methane.
Should have served in mine management positions in similar underground mines and must have confidence in tackling technical issues across various disciplines including coal extraction, new constructions for mine development, managing key risk areas, operational improvement of electromechanical equipment.
Must be affluent in speaking English, should have good physical/health status for paying regular visits to underground; and to be adaptable to work in a new environment and able to exert influence over colleagues and co-workers.
