About Our Client

Our client is an international FMCG organization, a leader in their market segment. They used to run a number of businesses on a country-by-country basis and are now moving to a regional management model. For the broader Procurement function, they are creating new roles that will focus on standardization and optimization of procedures, processes and overall approach across Europe.

A new key role will be the Vendor Management Director Europe who will work with the company's suppliers. The role can be located in various countries including Poland, Hungary, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and will be a mix of remote work and the possibility to work in one of the client's on-site offices.

This is an exciting opportunity for people with a vendor management or broader procurement background who worked on a regional level during change management initiatives. A hands-on approach will be essential, you will be supported by a team across Europe and report to the Global Chief Procurement Officer.

Job Description

  • Contribute from a Procurement perspective to the roll out of inventory management, capacity management, new product introduction, supply chain processes and systems
  • Implement supplier rationalization and standardization and compliance to the company's policies
  • Develop/Implement Group Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) linked to Procurement/Vendor Management.
  • Optimize purchasing activities in Europe through products optimizations (linked to innovation/market trends), VMI (Vendor managed inventories), SRM (Supplier Relationship Management), unit cost delivered, utilities (assets and inventory)
  • Standardize and rationalize the European supply base to improve day to day and best use of the company's assets
  • Drive cost reduction programs
  • Support execution of product development initiatives (materials, quality and suppliers), new suppliers, new technologies, materials and substitutes
  • Execute the centralized order management of key Regional categories
  • Work with Global Procurement on the overall strategy and Implementation of the key Regional Categories, guaranteeing the European business needs are met

Professional Experience & Education:

  • High-level academic background in Business / Purchasing / Supply Chain
  • Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in purchasing & supply chain in an international and FMCG environment.
  • Strong and smart negotiator
  • Ability to lead transversal projects
  • Strong technical and analytical background
  • Fluent in English. Other language is an asset
