Job Description
- Leads the Biology team to identify, generate and/or deliver novel drug candidates for the treatment of cancers
- Responsible for developing the strategy for Cancer Research and building team sufficient to deliver Research portfolio goals. Establish and lead collaborations with external partners
- Integrate antibody engineering technologies,and novel cancer targets into therapeutic candidates.
- Hire,develop,coach,and manage performance of scientific and technical staff
The Successful Applicant
- PhD from biology, pharmacology pathology, or biomedicine with a research career, preferred therapeutic area are oncology, immunology or rare diseases.
- 10-15 years of experience in international biotech industry or pharmaceutical industry with 5-10 years in managerial positions.
- Proven track record of delivery of key milestones from preclinical target validation to Phase 1 clinical studies and ability to contribute at a technical level to multiple programs simultaneously
- Understanding of the principles underlying antibody drug pipeline, including biological target engagement, antibody discovery, preclinical study, clinical biomarkers, translational studies and PK/PD relationships.
- Strong publication or patenting track record, at least 10 years' experience in drug discovery with a good understanding of both discovery and preclinical and early clinical development.
- Extensive experience in presenting scientific and commercial information for a range of audiences
- Strong record of scientific accomplishment
- Ability to work in startup environment and with government, academia or industry
