Job Description

  • Reporting to the Global Product Development Director and lead the engineering resources in region to execute product development projects.
  • Head of engineering department with over 20 employees, responsible for the full range of product development activities from Advanced Development, Detailed design, Product Realization till Life-Cycle Support.
  • Managing projects through all stages in the product development cycle with diversified skills and abilities to address myriad of situations encountered in product development and mass production launching.
  • Responsible for competency building, content management, drive technology road- mapping, planning and steering the department activities, assuring the output of the section is on time and on quality, defining and executing the department's strategy and driving continuous improvement
  • Maintain commercial awareness with a pragmatic approach to product development focused at growing the business.
  • Managed cross-functional issues and worked closely with internal & external stakeholders - product strategy group, global innovation teams, industrial design team, industrialization teams, purchasing and strategic suppliers including ODM/OEM partners.
  • Ensure continuous improvement and development of the APAC R&D and Engineering team and grow the technical capability of the team through regular coaching and mentoring.
  • The other responsibilities designated as one of regional executive team.

The Successful Applicant

  • Relevant background in consumer electronics industry with solid management experience in similar position.
  • Familiar with suppliers in China, good experience in partnering with local ODM/OEM companies.
  • Must have experience of working in Multinational company and directly reporting to HQ in US.
  • Seasoned engineering expert, can lead a diversified engineering team consist of firmware, hardware, EE, quality, PM engineers.
  • Proven good at good Leadership, can inheriting the exist team.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, can influencing suppliers and solve problems independently.
