Join a rapidly growing international media and events organization as a VP of Finance and accounting, where you'll oversee all financial operations and ensure compliance with domestic and International accounting standards. This role with report into the CFO and operate as a true business partner as the business looks to scale to $100mn ++ across geographies in US, APAC, Europe and Africa.

This role is with a uniquely positioned media and events organization with a global footprint in the digital news sector. Rapidly growing it is highly entrepreneurial and is recognized for delivering the highest quality and unique services to its clients.

Job Description

  • Oversee and manage all accounting operations (some of which are outsourced) across multiple international geographies.
  • Design and implement standardized accounting policies, procedures and controls across international geographies.
  • Prepare financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure accuracy.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation and optimization of the company's ERP and financial reporting platforms.
  • Develop financial operations dashboards and KPIS to monitor vendor performance.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the audit process across all entities in co-ordination with external advisors.
  • Oversee global cash management, treasury operations and global banking relationships

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • MBA, CPA or advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years progressive experience in corporate accounting, financial operation or controllership roles.
  • Multi geography/International Accounting experience required.
  • Experience within a high growth, entrepreneurial (start up) environment is required.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
