The AVP Leveraged Finance will be responsible for fundamental credit analysis on a portfolio of leveraged and high yield credits. This individual will support the loan approvals process on new transactions as well as continuous monitoring on the existing portfolio.

Job Description

As a credit officer specializing in leveraged finance, you'll play a vital role in the bank's leveraged lending franchise. Collaborating with front office colleagues, you'll analyze leveraged transactions, manage portfolios, and ensure compliance with credit policies, governance, and regulations. You'll also contribute to ongoing reporting and participate in internal projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze various leveraged finance transactions (LBOs, M&A financing, etc.) and present credit recommendations to senior management.
  • Foster relationships with front office colleagues, offering solutions and insights.
  • Assist in interactions with auditors and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure credit approval documentation aligns with lending policies and regulations.
  • Manage portfolio monitoring and review limits in collaboration with credit and front office teams.
  • Contribute to diverse internal projects.

The Successful Applicant

Skills and Experience:

  • 7+ years of leveraged finance experience in credit risk or similar role at VP level.
  • Strong background in credit or leveraged finance, with expertise in corporate analysis and financial modeling for non-investment grade borrowers.
  • Proven ability to make and defend credit decisions under scrutiny from senior management and regulators.
  • Sound understanding of Leveraged Loan and High Yield markets, related structures, documentation, and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to work under time pressure, drive the underwriting process independently, and provide transaction approval recommendations.

What's on Offer

$175,000-$225,000 base salary.
