Job Description

I am recruiting for an Economic Regulation Lead for an infrastructure business in the Northern Home Counties (hybrid working). You will:

  • Influence the economic regulator and other external stakeholders on the future evolution of the evolving incentive framework and individual outcome measures
  • Develop our Regulatory incentives strategy for the next price review
  • Monitor and respond to emerging regulatory proposals, trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Support the development and wellbeing of your direct report, encouraging them to play a leading role in the robust reporting of performance, responding to ad-hoc regulatory requests, and developing aspects of our position on incentives reform
  • Support our engagement with the regulator and other external stakeholders on our performance, key drivers and constraints, and lessons learned



The Successful Applicant

You will have:

  • Significant experience in economic regulation gained from either utilities, transport or infrastructure.
  • Proven track record of engaging with regulators, government, and industry stakeholders at a senior level
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical, strategic, and communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to see the bigger picture and translate complex regulatory issues into actionable strategies
  • Excellent relationship building and influencing skills
  • Numerically and quantitatively literate
  • Able to deliver high-quality quantitative economic analysis on a range of issues
