The Head of Grid & Infrastructure takes end‑to‑end responsibility for the company's grid connection and electrical infrastructure portfolio across the full asset lifecycle, from early planning and permitting through construction, commissioning, and long‑term operation.

Our client is a leading European renewable energy platform with an integrated develop-build-operate business model. The company is actively contributing to the energy transition through the development, construction, and long‑term operation of onshore wind, solar PV, battery storage, and hydrogen / power‑to‑gas solutions.

Job Description

  • Overall technical and commercial responsibility for grid connection infrastructure, including substations, cable routes, and connection concepts
  • Leadership, coaching, and development of a multidisciplinary team of approximately 25 engineers and specialists
  • Steering complex grid and electrical infrastructure projects across planning, permitting, construction, commissioning, and operation
  • Acting as the primary interface toward TSOs, DSOs, authorities, and external engineering and EPC partners
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant technical standards, safety requirements, and regulatory frameworks
  • Driving the definition and continuous improvement of standards, processes, and technical concepts for grid infrastructure
  • Supporting grid‑supportive and system‑stabilising operation of renewable assets, including hybrid and multi‑technology sites
  • Contributing to the strategic scaling of the grid infrastructure in line with the company's growth ambitions



The Successful Applicant

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline
  • Several years of senior leadership experience within grid infrastructure, energy systems, renewable development, or comparable environments
  • Proven experience in the delivery of grid‑connected infrastructure projects end‑to‑end, ideally on the asset owner or developer side
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Substations and grid connection infrastructure
    • High‑ and medium‑voltage systems
    • Grid connections for renewable generation assets
  • Solid background in managing complex projects and coordinating external engineering and construction partners
  • Very good knowledge of German grid regulation, standards, and permitting frameworks
  • Qualification or eligibility as GVEFK is required
