Search methodology
Engagement
The company had been temporarily operating without a General Counsel and relying on Outside Counsel which was becoming costly. They had initially enlisted the support of another search firm though the
profiles that they produced were not hitting the mark and the client was becoming concerned at the length of time taken to appoint this pivotal hire.
Having had a positive experience working with our sister brand, Michael Page, to hire property development professionals, the client reached out to Page Executive to take over this urgent GC search.
Considering the client’s urgency and their negative experience with the previous search firm, we demonstrated our flexibility, working on this assignment on a contingent exclusive basis – this was key to earning the client’s trust.
Sourcing
Led by Anna Jacobs, Senior Partner, the search was prioritized as time was of the essence. Wanting to make no concessions on quality of candidates and thoroughness of the recruitment process, Anna met the hiring team to take an in-depth brief on the client’s ideal candidate.
Our inhouse research function advertised the job across recruitment platforms and mapped the market whilst Anna called on her network, asking for referrals and proactively headhunting suitable candidates.
Assessment
The sourcing effort generated a longlist of 25 candidates which Anna interviewed, comprehensively assessing their technical expertise, leadership qualities, management experience and interpersonal/ communication styles - critical to attaining a cultural and mindset fit with the company.
Delivery
Anna delivered her shortlist of 6 candidates in 2 weeks, the client selected 2 candidates who they felt were the strongest match to interview. The team organized the interviews and ensured a smooth offer and onboarding process for both the client and the successful candidate.
