Job Description

The Executive Business Development Manager is a strategic pan-European commercial role focused on accelerating the group's growth within the aerospace and defense sector. The position will combine technical expertise with high-level commercial leadership:

  • Business growth: The BDM is responsible for building long-term customer relationships, driving complex consultative sales and positioning the group as value-adding partner
  • Stakeholder engagement & strategic networking: Operate across key European regions reflecting aerospace & defense - driving sustainable growth as partner to OEM and Tier1/Tier 2 suppliers
  • Technical Consultative Sales: Leverage deep knowledge of aerospace and defense market to support co-engineering and custom manufacturing solutions, directly enhancing the customer's Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Compliance & Traceability: Navigate rigorous European defense, military (MOD-compliant), and aerospace standards, ensuring that all supply chain, OEM, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) support strictly adheres to industry standards.

The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience in OEM-focused business development or key account management within aerospace/defense
  • A relevant academic background either in Mechanical- or Aerospace Engineering or similar
  • This role requires commercial leadership and technical depth. The ability to translate technical challenges into commercial outcomes, and driving growth within complex and technical B2B environments
  • Strong industry network within ideally Aerospace and/or Defense and proven track record in delivering sustainable growth
  • Commercially driven, entrepreneurial, and technical curious
  • Multilingual capabilities: proficiency of English and ideally German and/or French
