Job Description

As General Counsel, varied responsibilities will include:

  • Provide strategic legal advice to leadership and board members on corporate governance, compliance and other business related legal matters.
  • Oversee and manage all legal aspects of the organization's operations, including contracts, employment, and compliance/ risk.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including vendor agreements and employment contracts.
  • Advise on risk management strategies to protect the organization's interests.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed to address specific legal matters.
  • Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all legal inquiries and issues within the organization.

The Successful Applicant

The successful General Counsel should have:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and a valid license to practice law.
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate law, compliance, and regulatory frameworks in the health technology or other related industry (healthcare, pharmaceutical etc.).
  • Proven expertise in varied general counsel in a fast-paced, highly regulated direct to consumer environment.
  • Hands-on, strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach to managing legal matters.
  • Previous experience designing and building legal departments highly beneficial.
