Our client is a leading global transport and logistics organisation. The position offers responsibility for the Finance function across a strategically important multi-country business in Eastern Europe.

As part of the next phase of its regional transformation, the company is seeking to appoint a Chief Financial Officer - Eastern Europe. Reporting directly to the CFO Europe, this executive will play a pivotal role in shaping the future Finance organisation across the region while acting as a trusted business partner to both regional and global leadership teams.
This is far more than a traditional Regional CFO opportunity. The successful candidate will lead the Finance function for a business generating well over EUR 1 billion in annual revenue while helping shape the future direction of Finance across the region.
Success in this role will depend not only on financial and commercial expertise, but equally on the ability to inspire people, develop talent, build trust and lead a large international Finance organisation through a period of transformation and continued growth. This leader will play a key role in strengthening organisational capability, developing future leaders and creating a high-performing, collaborative Finance culture across multiple countries.

Job Description

  • Lead the Finance function across Central & Eastern Europe, ensuring strong financial governance, operational excellence and business performance
  • Partner closely with the CFO Europe and regional leadership team, providing strategic financial insight and commercial guidance
  • Shape the future Finance organisation, driving organisational effectiveness and capability across the region
  • Lead a broad Finance transformation agenda, including process optimisation, automation, AI adoption and close collaboration with global Shared Services and offshore Finance teams
  • Assess organisational capability, develop leadership talent and build high-performing Finance teams across multiple countries
  • Coach, mentor and empower Finance leaders while fostering a culture built on trust, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and performance management across the region
  • Ensure the highest standards of financial reporting, compliance, internal controls and risk management
  • Support strategic business initiatives, including organisational transformation, restructuring and M&A integration activities
  • Optimise cash flow, working capital and overall financial performance

The Successful Applicant

  • Senior Finance executive with significant regional and multi-country leadership experience
  • Proven track record as Regional CFO, CFO, Finance Director or equivalent executive leader
  • Experience within logistics, transportation, supply chain or contract logistics environments would be highly advantageous; Candidates from other operationally complex, multi-country environments (e.g. manufacturing, retail or omnichannel businesses) will also be considered
  • Strong experience leading Finance transformation within complex international organisations
  • Experience working within international Shared Services, GBS and offshore operating environments
  • Outstanding people leader with a passion for developing talent, coaching leaders and building organisational capability
  • Commercially minded business partner capable of influencing executive stakeholders across an international matrix organisation
  • Comfortable leading through change while balancing strategic priorities with operational execution
  • Fluent in English and Polish
