Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the company's fundraising and capital strategy, including VC, PE, strategic investors and other institutional capital.
  • Develop and communicate the company's investment thesis, financial model and equity story.
  • Build and manage relationships with institutional investors, healthcare funds and strategic partners.
  • Lead investor presentations, due diligence, financing negotiations and transaction execution.
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, cash management and financial governance.
  • Partner with the CEO and Board on corporate strategy, M&A, strategic partnerships and capital allocation.
  • Build and lead a scalable finance function as the company grows.
  • Prepare the company for future institutional financing, strategic transactions and potentially an IPO

The Successful Applicant

A successful Chief Financial Officer should have:

  • 15+ years of experience with senior leadership experience in investment banking, ideally at Managing Director level.
  • Strong background in Healthcare / Life Sciences investment banking, including fundraising, M&A, equity financing or IPOs.
  • Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance executive within biotech, pharma, CRO or healthcare.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading or supporting successful fundraising and investor relations.
  • Strong network across VC, PE, institutional and strategic investors.
  • Excellent understanding of biotech valuation, capital markets and clinical-stage business models.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to work closely with founders, CEOs, Boards and investors.
  • International experience across North America and Asia is highly desirable
