Our client is looking for a senior, highly creative Mandarin & English speaking Design Director with a truly global vision. You will lea*d the entire design team and be deeply involved in the full spectrum of work - from trend research and concept development to sample presentation. This role is critical to maintaining existing client relationships and generating new sales growth through outstanding design proposals.
  • Drive global design strategy for premium international brands.
  • Directly influence business growth through creative innovation.

The company specializes in sweaters, knitwear, and selected woven categories, partnering with lea*ding global clients to deliver innovative design and high-quality products. Design plays a central role in driving commercial growth and long-term client partnerships.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lea*d and develop a design team of approximately 10 professionals.
  • Drive seasonal trend forecasting, concept development, and product innovation.
  • Develop client-focused collections across sweater, knitwear, and woven categories.
  • Present design concepts and product solutions to international clients.
  • Support business growth by converting design innovation into commercial opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with merchandising, marketing, and product development teams.
  • Travel internationally to engage with clients and market trends.

The Successful Applicant

Key Requirements

  • Extensive Design Director or equivalent lea*dership experience.
  • Strong expertise in sweater and knitwear design.
  • Deep understanding of European and North American fashion markets.
  • Proven ability to lea*d creative teams and influence commercial outcomes.
  • Fluent English communication and presentation skills. Fluent Mandarin is required too.
  • International exposure and willingness to travel frequently.
