Our client is a leading international manufacturing and industrial services organization, operating within a highly engineered product environment. With revenues of around $ 200M across the Americas and backing from a global parent organization, the business combines manufacturing, sales, and aftermarket services to deliver long term customer value.

The Americas region represents a critical and growing market, with a well established footprint and strong commercial momentum. The organization is now seeking a Director of Finance to strengthen financial leadership, enhance performance visibility, and support the next phase of growth.

This role required a presence in the office at least 3 days/ week (non-negotiable).

Job Description

Reporting directly into the local CEO, and with a dotted line to the Group CFO overseas, the Director of Finance will serve as the senior finance leader for the Americas business, acting as a key partner to the local leadership team. This role will take full ownership of the North American finance function, leading a team of +/- 8 finance professionals while driving enhanced financial performance, strengthening governance, and supporting informed commercial decision making. Main duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Leading, developing, and structuring the regional finance function to improve accountability and effectiveness
  • Partnering closely with the local CEO to provide financial insight and challenge on strategic and commercial decisions
  • Driving financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across manufacturing, sales, and services
  • Improving visibility of KPIs, profitability, and operational metrics to support better decision making
  • Strengthening cost control and margin improvement initiatives across the business
  • Ensuring robust financial controls, compliance, and alignment with global standards
  • Acting as the primary interface with Group Finance, providing accurate and timely reporting
  • Supporting business transformation initiatives and embedding a more proactive, data driven finance culture

The Successful Applicant

In return for a competitive remuneration package the successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • CPA - ideal
  • 15+ years of a manufacturing experience from a finance/ accounting perspective
  • Proven experience as a Finance Director or CFO
  • Extensive experience supporting both operational and commercial functions, including sales and service models
  • Demonstrated ability to drive performance improvement, cost control, and financial discipline
  • Experience operating within an international reporting structure and working closely with Group Finance
  • Hands on, proactive, and solutions oriented mindset
  • Ability to work in office, in Portland, ME, at least 3 days/ week.

What's on Offer

  • $ 180,000 to $ 200,000 base salary
  • Annual performance related bonus scheme - Target Bonus is $ 80,000
