Our client is a large, diversified Australian organisation who is seeking a senior finance leader to oversee finance operations and enterprise wide business partnering in a complex, project based environment. Operating across multiple divisions that generating significant national revenue, the business is focused on strengthening financial capability, providing commercial insight and looking to support ongoing growth.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is responsible for leading national finance operations and acting as the primary finance partner to senior operational leadership. The position balances strategic oversight with hands on execution, playing a pivotal role in uplifting financial reporting, improving decision support, and embedding robust financial frameworks across the organisation.

Stakeholder management is central to success. The role works closely with the CFO, COO, Divisional General Managers and Regional leaders to translate financial insight into practical commercial outcomes. The ability to influence, challenge constructively, and partner effectively with the business is essential.

  • Lead finance operations and business partnering across multiple divisions
  • Uplift management reporting, insight, and reporting accuracy
  • Strengthen financial frameworks, governance, and consistency across entities
  • Improve systems, processes, and scalability, reducing reliance on manual reporting
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior operational and executive leadership
  • Coach, develop, and lead a national finance team, building future capability
  • Leverage shared services effectively to improve efficiency and performance



The Successful Applicant

You will be a commercially astute finance leader with experience in project based, contracting, or infrastructure environments. You bring strong operational finance and business partnering capability, demonstrating a track record of:

  • Building strong stakeholder relationships and influencing at senior levels
  • Creating structure, systems, and scalable finance processes
  • Leading and developing high performing finance teams
  • Thriving in fast moving, complex environments
  • Taking ownership and driving improvement with pace and clarity
