Its collaborative culture and deep bench of subject matter expertise enable teams to deliver innovative, client-focused results across industries and jurisdictions.Job DescriptionDevelop and execute firmwide public relations strategies that enhance the visibility, reputation, and market positioning of the firm's practices, attorneys, and thought leadership initiatives.Build, maintain, and leverage relationships with influential journalists, editors, and media outlets across legal, business, and industry publications to secure meaningful coverage and commentary opportunities.Identify, pitch, and place media opportunities that showcase firm expertise, client work, market insights, and partner thought leadership on emerging legal and business issues.Collaborate closely with Practice Groups, Business Development, and Marketing teams to align external communications with strategic business objectives and growth priorities.Lead the development of media strategies, messaging frameworks, press releases, announcements, award submissions, and profile-raising campaigns for firm initiatives and lateral partner arrivals.Prepare and coach partners and firm leaders for media interviews, press engagements, speaking opportunities, and other public-facing communications.Monitor media coverage, market developments, client activity, and industry trends, providing actionable insights and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders.Coordinate public relations efforts across offices to ensure consistent messaging, effective campaign execution, and global alignment.Manage, mentor, and develop a team of (4) PR and communications professionals, overseeing work quality, workload allocation, professional development, and performance management.Track and analyze media engagement metrics and campaign performance, using data-driven insights to improve future public relations initiatives and communications strategies.Establish and implement PR best practices, departmental processes, and operational guidelines that drive efficiency, consistency, and excellence across the communications function.Contribute to long-term communications planning and departmental leadership while supporting broader firm business development, brand-building, and growth objectives.The Successful ApplicantA successful Senior PR Manager should have:Bachelor's Degree8+ years of experience with public relations strategies and media relations in legal or professional services organizations5+ years of managerial experience with direct reportsExceptional oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated experience leading, managing and upskilling team membersStrong capabilities to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and shifting priorities in fast-paced environmentStrong analytical skills to monitor and evaluate PR performanceCollaborative approach to work effectively with cross-functional teamsSignificant knowledge of the industry and business acumen including maintaining relationships with media outlets and journalists.What’s on OfferNew York - Base salary range $200,000 to $240,000 + annual bonusMedical/Dental/Vision coverage optionsUp to 29 days of PTO + 10 paid holidaysHybrid schedule (3 days in-office/2 days remote)401kContactMegan McArdleQuote job refJN-082026-7091166Job summaryFunctionLegalSubsectorLegal SubsectorIndustryProfessional Services & ConsultancyLocationNew YorkContract typePermanentConsultant nameMegan McArdleJob referenceJN-082026-7091166Job NatureHome Office
