Job Description

Strategic Relationship Development

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships across China's mining, metals, commodities, and natural resources sectors.
  • Develop engagement with Chairpersons, Founders, CEOs, CFOs, investors, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Represent the organisation during industry events, business meetings, and external discussions.
  • Foster long-term engagement that may generate partnership, investment, acquisition, or joint venture opportunities.



Corporate Development & Strategic Partnerships

  • Identify opportunities across the mining and natural resources value chain.
  • Participate in discussions relating to partnerships, investments, joint ventures, and commercial arrangements.
  • Assess strategic alignment and long-term commercial potential of counterparties.
  • Facilitate engagement between stakeholders in China and business interests in Indonesia and other international markets.



Market Intelligence & Strategic Advisory

  • Monitor developments across mining, metals, critical minerals, and commodity markets.
  • Evaluate sector trends, policy developments, emerging opportunities, and market dynamics.
  • Provide perspectives to the Founder regarding market positioning, relationship priorities, and growth themes.
  • Surface opportunities at an early stage within the industry landscape.



Investment & Transaction Activities

  • Review investment, acquisition, and corporate development opportunities.
  • Examine financial performance, valuation metrics, commercial structures, and economic outcomes.
  • Participate in due diligence processes and strategic evaluations.
  • Contribute input for investment materials, commercial cases, and growth initiatives.



Executive Representation

  • Act as the Founder's representative within China.
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism, judgement, discretion, and credibility.
  • Advance key business priorities through ongoing stakeholder engagement.
  • Uphold business integrity and sound commercial conduct.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Director, Strategic Partnerships & Corporate Development should have:

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognised university.
  • 12-15+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience operating within senior executive and boardroom environments.
  • Established relationships across mining, metals, commodities, industrial, or investment sectors in China.
  • Demonstrated experience developing strategic partnerships and commercial opportunities.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Fluent Mandarin and English.
