On behalf of a solid and well-established Italian entrepreneurial company, a recognized leader in its market, we are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to work closely with Ownership during a phase of growth, organizational evolution, and managerial strengthening.

Operating successfully for more than thirty years, the company is a national reference point in high-value-added services dedicated to the Food Industry, Large-Scale Retail (GDO), Food Retail, and Ho.Re.Ca. sectors. Through a distinctive business model that combines recurring service revenues, specialized technical support, logistics excellence, and strong customer proximity, the company serves a large and loyal client base through a nationwide operational network.

Backed by institutional investors and a long-term growth vision, the organization is pursuing both organic growth and strategic acquisitions, with the objective of further strengthening its organizational structure and expanding its international presence.

Reporting directly to Ownership, the COO will be responsible for coordinating the company's key functions, ensuring alignment between strategic objectives, operational performance, and business development initiatives. The role will oversee Operations, Service, Logistics, Quality, Branches, Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, and Human Resources, playing a critical role in driving growth, efficiency, and organizational effectiveness.

The search is aimed at executives accustomed to operating in entrepreneurial environments with actively involved ownership, characterized by strong leadership, pragmatism, and a hands-on execution mindset.

Job Description

The COO will partner closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Ownership in the day-to-day management of the company, acting as a key bridge between shareholders and the organization's core business functions.

  • Lead and oversee operational activities, ensuring the achievement of business, quality, and efficiency objectives.
  • Manage and develop an organization of approximately 150 employees, including a nationwide commercial network.
  • Ensure effective integration and coordination across Operations, Service, Logistics, Branches, Sales, Customer Service, Procurement and Human Resources.
  • Monitor and optimize processes, planning tools, and performance management systems.
  • Support organizational development initiatives and strengthen internal managerial capabilities.
  • Partner with Ownership in the execution of strategic initiatives and growth projects, including potential integration and acquisition activities.
  • Identify and implement operational and organizational improvement opportunities to support business growth.
  • Maintain a strong field presence, working closely with employees, customers, and operational teams.



The Successful Applicant

  • Proven experience as a Chief Operating Officer, General Manager, or Operations Director within entrepreneurial businesses characterized by significant operational, logistics, or service complexity.
  • Strong background in B2B services, preferably within recurring-revenue business models such as rental, maintenance, technical services, facility services, field services, or distribution.
  • Demonstrated experience in the integrated management of Operations, Supply Chain, and structured commercial organizations.
  • Previous exposure to companies with active ownership and/or private equity involvement.
  • Solid track record in managing people, processes, and operational and financial performance.
  • Strong results orientation, pragmatic approach, and the ability to lead change while preserving the company's culture and values.
  • Authoritative leadership style, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to build consensus across all organizational levels.
  • Availability to maintain a regular on-site presence at headquarters and travel extensively across Italy.
