Job Description

  • Develop and execute the country strategy for South Korea, aligning local priorities with regional and global objectives.
  • Drive market growth and expand the adoption of sustainability standards across key sectors including manufacturing, paper and packaging, timber, furniture, consumer products, and wider supply chains.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulators, policymakers, and public-sector agencies.
  • Position the organisation as a trusted partner within evolving ESG frameworks, responsible sourcing initiatives, and sustainability-related regulatory developments.
  • Engage with CEOs, business leaders, sustainability executives, industry associations, non-government organisations, and other key stakeholders to strengthen market influence and collaboration.
  • Identify opportunities to increase market awareness, enhance stakeholder participation, and support long-term organisational growth.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, public forums, and high-level stakeholder engagements.
  • Lead strategic discussions on sustainability, responsible sourcing, and supply chain transparency within the South Korean market.
  • Manage and develop the local team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Ensure strong governance, operational effectiveness, financial oversight, and compliance with organisational standards and policies.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson and senior representative for the organisation in South Korea.
  • Collaborate closely with regional and international colleagues to deliver strategic initiatives and share market insights

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Public Policy, Business, Forestry, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is advantageous.
  • At least 10 years of leadership experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental management, certification systems, responsible sourcing, supply chain management, forestry, or related sectors
  • Exceptional relationship-building, partnership building, negotiation, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging senior stakeholders, regulators, industry leaders, and executive-level decision makers
