Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

    • Provide legal support to the equities sales and trading business, including equity derivatives and structured equity finance activities.
    • Draft, review, and negotiate derivatives trading documentation, including ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support Annexes, master confirmation agreements, and transaction confirmations.
    • Advise business stakeholders on regulatory requirements impacting derivatives and trading activities, including margin and other derivatives-related regulations.
    • Support trading activity across a range of equity-linked products, including swaps, options, and forwards.
    • Draft and negotiate securities financing documentation, including repurchase and securities lending agreements.
    • Maintain and enhance standard form documentation, templates, and legal processes.
    • Partner closely with credit, market risk, collateral management, operations, compliance, and other internal stakeholders to address legal, operational, and risk-related issues.
    • Provide legal support for a broad spectrum of equity-linked products and structured solutions, including structured notes, corporate equity derivatives, quantitative investment strategies, custom indices, and other complex transactions.



The Successful Applicant

    • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, with New York admission preferred.
    • Minimum of five years of relevant legal experience at a leading law firm, financial institution, or other sophisticated markets environment.
    • Significant experience negotiating derivatives documentation, including ISDA agreements and related collateral arrangements.
    • Strong understanding of the regulatory framework governing derivatives markets, including uncleared and cleared products.
    • Deep knowledge of margin requirements, trading documentation, and legal issues affecting equity derivatives and securities financing transactions.
    • Familiarity with repurchase agreements, securities lending arrangements, and other market-standard trading documentation.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple complex matters and tight timelines in a dynamic trading environment.
    • Strong analytical skills, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across functions.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing legal risk management with business objectives.
