Permanent General Counsel role based at the US HQ office in Charlotte, North Carolina.Job DescriptionGeneral Counsel responsibilities include:Provide legal advice and guidance to the company and senior leadership team on a wide range of business and compliance legal matters.Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, leases, and other legal documents to protect the company's interests.Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in the retail industry.Manage relationships with external legal counsel as needed.Develop and implement strategies to mitigate legal risks.Represent the company in legal proceedings and negotiations.Oversee corporate governance and ensure proper legal documentation.Provide training and support to staff on legal matters and company policies.The Successful ApplicantThe successful General Counsel should have demonstrable experience in:Juris Doctor and US state bar in good standing.Strong preference for experience in the retail industry or a similar sector encompassing leasing work, construction/ store fit-out contracts, employment matters for workforce across multiple states.Previous work for an international brand, working collaboratively with senior stakeholders and legal counterparts elsewhere in the world is preferred.Strong knowledge of corporate, compliance, and contract law.Excellent negotiation and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.Demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal advice to leadership teams.Able to work from the office in Charlotte, North Carolina.What’s on OfferThe General Counsel will benefit from:Competitive salary range: c. $170,000 - $180,000 per year (depending on relevant experience).Annual bonus.Role based on-site in Charlotte, North Carolina.Generous paid time off (PTO).ContactAnna JacobsQuote job refJN-072026-7064533Job summaryFunctionLegalSubsectorLegal SubsectorIndustryBusiness & Support ServicesLocationCharlotteContract typePermanentConsultant nameAnna JacobsJob referenceJN-072026-7064533
