Job Description

  • Define the long-term strategy for enterprise data platforms that support AI, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Lead the design and delivery of reusable data products, shared services, and information assets that can be leveraged across multiple business functions.
  • Establish modern approaches to data discovery, knowledge management, metadata, and enterprise search to improve access to trusted information.
  • Build scalable retrieval, indexing, and contextualisation capabilities that improve the quality and reliability of AI-driven applications.
  • Drive architectural standards across data platforms, pipelines, storage, integration, and AI-enabled services.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to prioritise investments and accelerate delivery of high-value AI use cases.
  • Implement governance frameworks covering data quality, security, lineage, privacy, compliance, and responsible AI practices.
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams spanning data engineering, platform engineering, information management, and governance.
  • Ensure platforms operate with strong reliability, observability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to strengthen enterprise AI and data capabilities.



The Successful Applicant

A successful Head of AI Data Platform & Engineering should have:

  • Proven experience building and scaling enterprise-wide data platforms that support AI, advanced analytics, and digital products ideally in Financial Services, Telecommunications, Technology, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Deep expertise in modern data architecture, data engineering, and cloud-based data ecosystems within large, complex organisations.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-enabling technologies such as knowledge graphs, semantic layers, vector databases, enterprise search, and retrieval-based architectures (RAG).
  • Track record establishing data governance frameworks covering data quality, metadata, lineage, privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience leading large multidisciplinary teams across data engineering, platform engineering, information management, and AI/data governance functions.
