Job Description

  • Originate and manage relationships with Japanese institutional investors, including pensions, insurers, asset managers, banks and family offices.
  • Engage with investors across global private market strategies, including private equity, real assets, infrastructure and credit.
  • Build and maintain long‑term relationships with prospective and existing investors.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for Japan‑based stakeholders, providing ongoing engagement and market context.
  • Adapt global investment solutions for the Japanese market, reflecting local preferences and regulatory considerations.
  • Manage due diligence processes, including information requests, onboarding activities and internal alignment.
  • Work across global investment, legal, compliance and operations teams to ensure effective execution.
  • Represent the organisation in client meetings, industry forums and professional events in Japan.

The Successful Applicant

You should have:

  • 10-15 years of experience in institutional sales, alternatives fundraising or relationship management within Japan.
  • Established relationships with Japanese institutional investors.
  • Knowledge of private markets, including private equity, credit, real assets and infrastructure.
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders in complex institutional environments.
  • Fluency in Japanese and strong English communication skills.
  • Experience operating in a lean, growth‑stage environment.
  • Experience within a global or cross‑border organisation.
  • Sound judgement, professionalism and a relationship‑focused approach.
