Notting Hill Genesis (NHG) are a not-for-profit registered provider of social housing, looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
  • Shape the financial future of one of the UK's leading housing associations.
  • Exciting CFO opportunity at a London based housing association.

About Our Client

A home provides the basis for a stable and healthy society, but the capital's housing crisis means that for too many Londoners a home is out of reach.

Notting Hill Genesis (NHG) are a not-for-profit registered provider of social housing, regulated by government. Founded in the 1960s to address slum conditions in west London, we're now one of London's largest charitable housing associations and a leading advocate and trusted partner to local councils and government, giving Londoners from all backgrounds and walks of life a base and community from which to achieve their potential.

We are both a landlord and a developer, with more than 66,000 existing homes and 2,440 more in our pipeline over the next five years, and a well-established commercial business from which we reinvest surpluses to support the provision of below market-rent homes across the capital.

Powered by over £1bn of investment into our homes over the next ten years, we're on a mission to improve how we deliver even better quality homes, services and communities for our 130,000 residents.

We are committed to returning to regulatory compliance and being able to build even more new affordable homes in the future. To build trust and reputation with our residents and wider society, we will continue to simplify and transform how we are organised and how we work.

We are entering a pivotal period in our journey as we develop the strategy that will succeed Better Together. With a clear focus on customer outcomes, safe and quality homes, financial resilience and stronger governance, the Chief Financial Officer will play a central role in shaping NHG's next chapter.

Job Description

  • As a key member of the Executive Team, the CFO will help shape strategic direction, lead transformational change and ensure the organisation is positioned to deliver better outcomes for residents and communities across London.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to the Board and part of the Executive Team, providing clear insight on financial performance, risk and key business decisions.
  • Lead treasury, funding and business planning, maintaining strong relationships with lenders and ensuring long-term financial resilience.
  • Ensure strong financial governance and compliance, delivering statutory accounts, regulatory returns and a clean audit.
  • Lead NHG through a critical period of improvement, strengthening governance, value for money and supporting our return to full regulatory compliance.
  • Develop a high-performing finance function, leading an inclusive team and finance culture. Ensuring resources are directed to where they have the greatest impact for residents and the long-term sustainability of the business.
