About Our Client

The candidate will manage a landmark development project in Sicily. This is a high-impact role overseeing a large-scale, multi-use infrastructure initiative with significant investment and long-term strategic relevance. The role will be managing the full lifecycle of complex capital projects, from feasibility and design through execution, testing, and commissioning. The role combines project delivery with oversight of operational facilities across a diverse asset portfolio (stadium, commercial areas, hospitality, retail, infrastructure services,...).

This position operates within a lean organizational structure, requiring strong direct management of external contractors, consultants, and suppliers, without a large internal team. It is a full-time, on-site role.

Job Description

  • Manage end-to-end planning and execution of large-scale infrastructure and real estate projects;
  • Manage high-value CAPEX programs (hundreds of millions) across complex, mixed-use developments;
  • Oversee feasibility, design management, procurement, construction, testing & commissioning activities;
  • Coordinate and manage all third-party contractors, consultants, and suppliers;
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, permitting, health & safety, and environmental standards;
  • Managing supplier selection and procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management;
  • Monitor budgets, timelines, risk, and quality (QA/QC), ensuring efficient delivery and cost control;
  • Establish and manage Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) strategies and long-term infrastructure planning;
  • Oversee day-to-day facilities operations (security, catering, cleaning, maintenance, FOH) across all assets;
  • Ensure readiness and compliance with Emergency Action Plans (EAP) and Normal Operating Procedures (NOP);
  • Interface with local authorities and key stakeholders, ensuring strong alignment and smooth approvals;
  • Report to senior governance, providing regular updates on progress, financials, and risks;
  • Promote sustainability initiatives, including energy optimization, waste reduction, and environmental compliance (e.g., photovoltaic opportunities);
  • Apply tools and systems (e.g., Oracle FM, CFG standards) to infrastructure management.

The Successful Applicant

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven track record delivering complex capital projects from the client side;
  • Experience managing large, multidisciplinary external teams and contractors;
  • Strong expertise in contract management, procurement, and budget control;
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks, compliance, and stakeholder engagement with public authorities;
  • Ability to operate effectively in lean structures with high accountability;
  • Excellent communication skills, with confidence interacting with C-level stakeholders;
  • Pragmatic, hands-on approach with strong planning and execution capabilities.



Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years' experience in infrastructure, construction, or facilities roles (Head of / Director level);
  • Relevant experience in large-scale, high-footfall or capital-intensive environments (stadiums, healthcare, hospitality, events, commercial real estate);
  • Strong knowledge of design, construction, and technical services markets;
  • Expertise in pocuremente processes, contractor oversight, and risk management;
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field (Master's preferred);
  • PMP® certification and/or LEED accreditation considered a plus;
  • Proficiency with project and construction management tools (e.g., Aconex, Procore, AutoCAD, SmartSheet);
  • Fluency in English required.
