Job Description



Marketplace Strategy & 0→1 Launch

  • Lead the creation and launch of a marketplace from scratch, defining the value proposition, service offering, business model, and growth strategy.
  • Own the end‑to‑end marketplace lifecycle, including business planning, resource allocation, budgeting, development, and go‑to‑market execution.
  • Define functional and technical requirements to build a robust, secure, and scalable platform.
  • Design and maintain the short-, mid-, and long‑term product roadmap, prioritizing initiatives with the highest customer and business impact.
  • Act as the business owner and key user of the platform, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical execution.
  • Lead and oversee the technical teams responsible for platform development and evolution.



User Experience & Business Development

  • Ensure a best‑in‑class user experience (UX/UI), delivering seamless and intuitive customer journeys from access to transaction.
  • Define and execute a customer data strategy compliant with applicable regulations, ensuring ownership of the customer relationship.
  • Identify, negotiate, and build strategic partnerships, creating a compelling and differentiated marketplace offering.
  • Lead the full partner acquisition lifecycle, from prospecting and negotiation to contract signing and onboarding.
  • Ensure partner alignment with quality, brand, and ethical standards.



Integration & Go‑to‑Market

  • Ensure seamless integration of partner services, products, and payment systems.
  • Coordinate multi‑provider payment orchestration, enabling secure and efficient transactions.
  • Lead the marketplace launch, working cross‑functionally with marketing, legal, operations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Design and implement incentive and activation mechanisms to drive customer acquisition and engagement.



Analytics, Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and monitor key marketplace KPIs (acquisition, conversion, retention, profitability).
  • Analyze performance data, customer feedback, and market trends to identify growth and optimization opportunities.
  • Deliver executive‑level performance reporting with strategic insights and recommendations.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking to identify market gaps and new strategic opportunities.



Cross‑Functional Leadership

  • Foster strong cross‑functional collaboration across product, technology, sales, operations, marketing, finance, and legal teams.
  • Ensure marketplace initiatives are fully aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Partner with finance on forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure regulatory compliance and brand protection.

The Successful Applicant

Education & Languages

  • Higher education degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate education (Master's degree or MBA) in Digital Business, E‑commerce, Project Management, or similar disciplines.
  • Advanced English proficiency; knowledge of additional languages is highly valued.



Professional Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in e‑commerce, product management, or marketplace leadership roles, with proven experience launching digital products or business units from inception (0→1).
  • Demonstrated experience managing P&L responsibility and commercial performance.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and market share on major platforms such as Amazon, eBay, Walmart, or equivalent marketplaces.



Technical & Functional Expertise

  • Strong technical‑functional mastery of e‑commerce and marketplaces, including:
    • Marketplace algorithms and ranking logic
    • Conversion rate optimization
    • APIs and system/data integration principles
  • Hands-on experience with marketplace management and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Solid knowledge of payment gateways, attribution models, and A/B testing methodologies.



Strategic, Analytical & Leadership Skills

  • Strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to define and execute a business plan from scratch and make data‑driven decisions.
  • Strong project leadership and stakeholder management skills, capable of aligning technical and non‑technical teams around shared objectives.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement.



Digital & Productivity Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (O365) and data analysis tools.
  • Comfortable working in complex, cross‑functional, and fast‑paced digital environments.
