Job Description

Client Coverage & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the senior relationship manager for strategic real estate clients.
  • Develop and execute client coverage plans to deepen existing relationships and acquire new clients.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executives, including CEOs, CFOs, Treasurers, and investment professionals.
  • Lead regular client meetings and identify opportunities to expand wallet share.
  • Coordinate with investment banking, capital markets, treasury services, risk management, and other product partners to provide integrated banking solutions.



Business Development & Origination

  • Originate new lending, advisory, treasury, and capital markets opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with major real estate developers, REITs, private equity real estate sponsors, infrastructure owners, and institutional investors.
  • Generate annual revenue and return-on-capital targets.
  • Partner with credit risk teams to evaluate borrower financial strength, portfolio performance, market trends, and asset quality.
  • Ensure transactions meet risk-adjusted return requirements.
  • Monitor client performance, covenant compliance, and credit exposures.
  • Present transactions and portfolio reviews to credit committees and senior management.



Transaction Execution

  • Lead negotiation of financing documentation, pricing, terms, and syndication strategies.
  • Coordinate execution teams across legal, credit, operations, and capital markets functions.
  • Manage complex transactions from origination through closing.
  • Support debt capital markets, equity capital markets, and M&A opportunities involving real estate clients.



Portfolio Management

  • Maintain oversight of a portfolio of real estate corporate banking relationships.
  • Monitor industry trends affecting office, industrial, multifamily, retail, hospitality, healthcare, data center, and specialty real estate sectors.
  • Conduct portfolio reviews and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Optimize portfolio profitability and capital utilization.

The Successful Applicant

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Must have origination experience and market contacts with top-tier large real estate companies and institutional funds including US and Canadian pension funds.
  • MBA, Master's degree, CFA, or other advanced professional designation preferred
  • 15-20 years experience with ample career runway
  • Previous experience at an International Bank preferred
  • Proven track record managing senior relationships with large real estate companies, REITs, and institutional sponsors.
  • Significant experience originating and executing multi-million and multi-billion-dollar credit facilities and financing transactions.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and business portfolios.
