For our client, an international, consumer-driven organisation operating globally, we are currently recruiting a Country Manager for Poland (B2B/contract role).
This is a senior commercial leadership role with responsibility for developing and scaling the business in Poland, within a lean and evolving market setup. The position should be viewed as a market-building mandate, rather than a traditional, fully structured country management role.

Business Context
Poland represents a high-potential market within the client's international portfolio, with strong underlying category dynamics and significant headroom for further growth across modern trade, e-commerce and broader distribution channels.
Following a recent leadership change, the organisation is taking the opportunity to reassess and strengthen its market approach, with a particular focus on improving commercial execution and increasing local ownership.
The business is currently operating in a lean setup in Poland, with no established local structure - creating both complexity and opportunity for the incoming leader. The role reports into a regional General Manager within an international matrix structure and works closely with central functions across commercial, marketing and supply chain.

Role Overview
The Country Manager will be responsible for leading the commercial agenda in Poland, with a focus on driving growth, strengthening market presence and shaping the future operating model.
This is a role for someone comfortable operating with a degree of ambiguity, capable of building foundations, structuring the market approach and delivering results without extensive local infrastructure.

Job Description

  • Drive the overall commercial strategy and performance of the business in Poland
  • Lead and optimise the go-to-market model, including distributor-supported and logistics-enabled setup, while assessing opportunities to increase direct market control over time
  • Develop and strengthen strategic partnerships with key retail customers, across modern trade and e-commerce
  • Build brand visibility and category positioning in a competitive consumer environment
  • Own pricing strategy, margins and commercial levers, ensuring sustainable and profitable growth
  • Identify and unlock new growth opportunities, including channel expansion and route-to-market improvements
  • Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders, aligning local execution with international priorities
  • Define the local product range and contribute to market-specific commercial and marketing plans

The Successful Applicant

  • Experience in roles such as Country Manager, Managing Director, Commercial Director or Head of Sales & Operations, Head of Business
  • Background in consumer-driven sectors, ideally within consumer appliances / small domestic appliances, consumer electronics or other branded categories combining product, brand and distribution
  • Strong exposure to hybrid go-to-market models, including distributor and wholesale management, direct retail partnerships as well as e-commerce / omnichannel environments
  • Experience in organisations operating within international matrix structures, combining central governance with local responsibility
  • Experience in environments where market development required operating with limited local structures or indirect go-to-market models will be considered a strong advantage
  • Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, margins and P&L understanding
  • Ability to operate effectively in lean, developing and partially structured environments
  • Track record in building or evolving go-to-market models
  • Strong relationship-building skills with key retail partners
  • High level of ownership, autonomy and entrepreneurial mindset
